Profecta Labels Inc.

Owning a Nilpeter press was a long-held dream for Profecta Labels. Read how the purchase of their first Nilpeter press led to a successful partnership with Nilpeter.

Profecta Labels Inc., a leading Canadian manufacturer, specializes in flexographic and digital printing for labels and flexible packaging. Serving the industrial, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and food and beverage markets across North America, Profecta Labels has been a part of Fortis Solutions Group since 2022, benefiting from the resources and synergies of a larger organization. With over 100 dedicated employees, Profecta Labels continues to grow and innovate.

Owning a Nilpeter press was a long-held dream for Profecta Labels. After admiring Nilpeter at trade shows, they finally purchased their first Nilpeter press seven years ago, marking their entry into UV flexo printing. The print quality was phenomenal, transforming their business and leading to the acquisition of a second, upgraded Nilpeter FB press, the FB-350.

The choice to partner with Nilpeter was driven by their impressive technology and strong reputation. An invitation to Nilpeter’s Technology Center in Cincinnati solidified their decision, showcasing the press’s capabilities firsthand.

Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Profecta Labels received their new Nilpeter press in 2021 with minimal delays. The assembly by the Nilpeter team was smooth, and the operators were thrilled with the press’s performance and superior print quality.

Today, both Nilpeter presses are essential to Profecta Labels’ operations, running two shifts, five days a week. The new 8 colour FB press, with features like double unwind and a rail for the peel and reseal unit, has enabled them to tap into new markets as they now offer shorter lead times and higher volumes.

Currently, the presses mostly run labels, but they also handle a significant amount of flexible packaging, primarily film and snack web for customers. Looking ahead, Profecta Labels expects flexible packaging to play an even larger role, with the presses consistently delivering top-notch performance.

Pierre Roberge, President of Profecta Labels, shared: “Partnering with Nilpeter has been instrumental in our growth. Their presses’ quality and reliability have allowed us to expand our reach and boost production efficiency.”

Walt Mesik, Senior Sales Consultant at Nilpeter, added: “Working with Profecta Labels has been a pleasure. Their dedication to quality and innovation aligns perfectly with Nilpeter’s values, and we’re excited to support their ongoing success.”

As part of Fortis Solutions Group, Profecta Labels now enjoys the advantage of optimizing performance and data by benchmarking across all Fortis sites. This broader network helps them stay ahead of the competition and continue their upward trajectory.

With the backing of Fortis and the excellence of Nilpeter presses, Profecta Labels is well-positioned for a bright future, eager to explore new opportunities and advancements in the dynamic market.
