On May 24, a modern playground built under an international project with funds from Finnish and Danish sponsors was officially opened in Kyiv, Ukraine.
The centerpiece of the new entertainment facility is the Super Cube structure—a unique play tower with two huge slides and enough space for more than 50 children at a time. It is currently the only vertical play space of its kind in Ukraine, featuring an exclusive design made of natural
Peter Eriksen, COO at Nilpeter, stated:
“At Nilpeter, we are delighted to help bring smiles back to the children’s faces, allowing them to be children and forget the war, even if just for a short while. It has been fantastic to see how what started as a new playground has evolved into an improvement of the entire surrounding area, enabling both children and adults to enjoy time together in a beautiful environment.”
About the Joy of Play Project
The playground was built as part of the Joy of Play project, initiated by the Hartwall family from Finland. This project brought together the efforts of Finnish and Danish companies Reima, Lappset Group, and Nilpeter, along with the All-Ukrainian Public Association “Institute ‘Respublica,'” in partnership with the company “New Horizons 2005” and Kyivzelenbud. The aim of the project is to create a play space where children and teenagers can experience the joy of play and communication despite the ongoing war. This is the second facility implemented in Ukraine as part of the Joy of Play project. The first playground was opened by foreign partners in June 2023 in the courtyard of a Lviv school.
